The Garden of Succulent Plants

Behind the Shrine you can admire a characteristic and rich display of fat plants. It is accessed by a ladder on the left side of the Shrine. The show is always open even during the lunch time and inside it we find every kind of cactus and succulent plants. Among them there are numerous echinocactus grusonii known more commonly as “mother-in-law pillows” and various specimens of crassula portulacea of which pilgrims are often omitted in their visit. The exhibition started at the beginning of  the 1970s and in 2000, it was enriched by a greenhouse to protect plants during the winter.
